One of the days I was there, we made Gingerbread houses. It was loads of fun. Exept, I burned my self trying to put together the houses for the kids. Since a couple of the kids are allergic to a bunch of different things, I melted some sugar to use as the glue for the structure. In my haste to finish everything for the antsy kids, I dropped some molten sugar on my hand. Luckily, that was the only casualty. As soon as we were finished, we smeared the outsides of the houses with icing, so they could decorated them with the candy.

You should always have a bowl of ice water nearby when working with caramelized sugar!!
